Swiss ski resorts remained open during the entire winter season 2020/21 and thanks to the thorough protection plans in place, no significant clusters arose. The consequent handling of all protection plans and safety measures gives confidence to our guests.

The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOHP) and the Swiss Association of Mountain Railways agreed on October 19 that the current regulations should also be valid this winter as long as the pandemic situation does not worsen. Mountain railways are subject to the same regulation as public transport.

Current regulations:

EU Covid certificates are valid in Switzerland.

Switzerland is the original winter vacation destination. More than 200 ski regions offer everything the heart desires when it comes to winter sports. Wide pistes, huge halfpipes, endless deep snow – all within quick and easy reach.

Skiing in Switzerland is widely known, both on and off the slopes, but not the only option. There are many other winter activities that may not be quite as obvious and that are easily forgotten when visiting Switzerland.

Cross-country skiing is getting more and more popular and Switzerland has excellent trails.
Whether in the midst of 13,000 competitors in the Engadin Ski Marathon or on the romantic hills of the Jura, over 5,000 kilometres of cross-country ski trails cater to everyone’s tastes. An immense trail network and diverse scenery: it offers perfect cross-country trails for everyone.
The Swiss call it ‘langlauf’ in the north-east, or ‘ski-de-fond’ in the west, Switzerland’s cross-country skiing is spectacular: Glide over frozen lakes, pass ancient villages and scale high glaciers, with vast peaks looming overhead.

Snowshoeing is a great winter activity for anyone who wants to enjoy winter landscapes at a slower pace. Switzerland has many official snowshoe trails. Although winter walks on groomed trails are also nice, snowshoeing has the advantage of much better traction while walking and the ability to explore in deeper snow.
Snowshoe tours, winter hikes and hotel tips away from civilisation. Discover the magic of snow-covered forests and hills. Immerse yourself in a dreamy winter world.

Tobogganing is great winter fun for young and old. Go tobogganing, or similar versions, are is simply fun! The tobogganing runs offer plenty of adrenaline and superb views.
Officially, there are approximately 150 toboggan runs but in actuality, there are many more. Every mountain village has roads that are shared by sledders and mountain vehicles. The longest is 11 km and located in Grindelwald.
