Only 1.5 hours from Geneva airport, the Region Dents du Midi is the first gateway to the Valais Alps. It includes 6 authentic high altitude villages: Champéry, Morgins, Champoussin, Les Crosets, Troistorrents and Val-d’Illiez. Nestled Nestled at the foot of the emblematic Dents du Midi mountain range, these villages are part of Les Portes du Soleil, the world’s largest international ski area.

With more than 600 km of ski slopes between Switzerland and France, the Portes du Soleil ski area offers endless hours of wintertime fun, from gentle beginner slopes and endless, perfectly groomed avenues to steep bumpy runs, powder-filled gullies and immaculately shaped snow parks.

When the snow melts, the ski area turns into a hiking and biking paradise from May to end of October. There are over 800 km of hiking trails in the area, ranging from easy strolls to challenging mountain ascents. Some of the most popular hiking routes include the Tour des Dents du Midi, a multi-day trek around the entire mountain range, or the Roc Coupé trail, a wonderfully varied hike that traverses shady forests, serene mountain pastures, and a lovely alpine suspension bridge.

Cyclists have no reason to be jealous here, with 600 km of biking trails (including 50 downhill bike trails between 5 bikeparks and 19 chailifts available with one pass). From downhill runs to enduro and cross-country trails, the Region Dents du Midi is open to all bikers, specially for beginners using E-bike ! Convenient recharging stations dotted throughout the area in alpine restaurants, which means that you can charge your own batteries at the same time as the bike.

No matter the season, this is a place of exhilarating peaks and inspiring views, where the border between France and Switzerland has all but disappeared where the possibilities are infinite: activities, events, sports, restaurants, a national ice sports centre… At the risk of sounding cliché, there really IS something for everyone in the Region Dents du Midi!
