The little hamlet of Corippo in the Verzasca Valley with just 12 inhabitants will open on the 1st of June 2022 as an “Albergo Diffuso”. Just like the Italian hospitality model, 5 rustici (typical stone houses) spread throughout the village have been converted into rooms with a total of 26 beds, the narrow streets almost acting as a kind of hotel corridor and the Osteria doubling up as both a reception and meeting point with a panoramic terrace to while away the hours.  In keeping with the idea of sustainability, the construction of this innovative hotel project will both preserve the historical architecture of this typical Ticino hamlet and promote tourism, thereby ensuring the continued survival of the village. Corippo’s Albergo Diffuso is ideal for visitors wanting to discover more about life in an authentic Ticino village, seek refuge from everyday stresses and strains and love getting to know locals when on holiday but whilst still enjoying the services provided by a modern hotel sector.

Right at the southern end of Ticino lies the Muggio Valley, and right at the end of that lies Scudellate, a picturesque village located at an altitude of 900 metres at the foot of Mount Generoso. Characteristic for this authentic valley are peace and tranquillity. This small Ticino hamlet – with its 20 inhabitants, give or take a couple – got the green light as an Albergo Diffuso on 22nd of June, 2021. The focal point of the Albergo Diffuso of Mount Generoso is the Osteria Manciana. It has undergone complete renovation and is now the reception, dining room and mini-hotel with two modern guest rooms. The former schoolhouse opposite has also been converted to welcome guests and will offer accommodation for up to 24 people in four rooms. With the help of cooking courses, wine tasting sessions and cultural excursions, the hosts bring together their guests with the cultural and gastronomic specialities of the region.
