Visa applications.
An important part of the travel preparation is the visa application. If Switzerland is the main or the only destination of the trip, clients have to apply for a Schengen visa at the Swiss Embassy, the General Consulate of Switzerland (or the Embassy representing Switzerland if the local Swiss Embassy has no visa section) at their resident country by using the appointed visa service centre.
Who needs a visa?
For citizens of Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei no Schengen visa is required to enter Switzerland as a tourist if the length of stay does not exceed 90 days.
Citizens of Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar need to apply for a visa.
Where, when and how to apply?
To apply successfully, all required documents need to submitted on time and at the right place.
It is recommended to submit the visa application as early as possible but at least 3 weeks and not more than 6 months before the planned journey.
