Exhilaration in the midst of luscious colours.

Autumn, a time of culinary celebrations.

Chestnut, the soul of Ticino.

It’s a festive time in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. In Ticino, families gather to celebrate the chestnut, this “bread tree” that has been part of the culinary habits for centuries. Roasted in their shells or turned into tasty vermicelles, a delicious flour, crunchy cereal or an aromatic beer… a real culinary delight in all its form!

Harvest & wine culture in Switzerland.

Finally, it’s harvest time in the wine region of Switzerland! And once all the grapes have been put into barrels, it’s time to celebrate these many months of hard labour. Harvest festivals are times for friends and families to meet and reward the work of winemakers

But the best part in all of this, is to admire the vineyard’s leaves turning yellow. In Lavaux vineyard, the contrast between the golden vineyards, the dark blue lake and the greyish mountain leaves you speechless. If you’re patient enough, stay a bit to admire a pinky sunset over the seemingly endless Lake Geneva.

Whether you are a wine buff or just enjoy a glass at dinner, there is much to be discovered in the wine growing country of Switzerland!
