March-ing into spring.

March brings with it spring skiing, and where better than the Matterhorn Ski Paradise, Europe’s highest ski area? Also well worth a visit this spring are Lausanne, which has launched four new gourmet tours and Bern, which stuns this time of year thanks to its vibrant cherry blossoms. And over in London, the Royal Academy has just opened its new exhibition celebrating the influential 18th-century Swiss painter Angelica Kauffmann.

February | Swiss bliss in the lead-up to spring.

This month is known as the fifth season in Switzerland; the few weeks of the year when carnival traditions take over! Another one-of-a-kind Swiss experience is a husky sleigh ride in Zermatt with breath-taking views of the Matterhorn. Lastly, this month marks the 100th anniversary of the Parsenn Derby, one of the country’s oldest ski races, which will take place on 29 February.

New in Switzerland this month is new winter specials at Gstaad’s piste-side pop-up ‘The Offcut Food Truck’, a brand new gondola in the Region Dents du Midi, the opening of the opulent Mandarin Oriental Savoy in Zurich and two quirky new winter activities: raclette rafting in Interlaken and gondola karaoke in Grindelwald!
