The second St. Moritz Award will be presented in St. Moritz, in the Swiss Canton of Graubünden, from 18 to 20 March 2011. The prestigious award honours international personalities and organisations for using their privileged public status for the good of others.

The two laureates are Johann Olav Koss, the former Norwegian Olympic medallist and world record holder, and the international organisation founded by him, Right to Play, which helps children all over theworld to gain a new outlook on life through play and sport. The other is the
famous tenor José Carreras and his José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation, which has dedicated its efforts against this blood disease since the star tenor recovered from it in 1988.

As a musical highlight José Carreras will treat the audience at the gala evening in Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, St. Moritz, on 19 March 2011, to a selection sung from his repertoire.
