Swiss Perspectives in 10 languages.
SWI swissinfo.ch is the international online medium of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). It provides information and background from a Swiss perspective in ten languages. The core topics are direct democracy, Swiss foreign policy, cutting-edge research, multinational companies and developments emanating from International Geneva.
This April, North American tour operators, travel agents and travel media get to travel through Switzerland in a few hours, right on their door steps. Switzerland Tourism’s new roadshow “Road-to-Switzerland” makes it possible.
Switzerland is popular as a travel and vacation destination for Canadians. The small country in Europe can look back on record breaking visitor numbers from Canada.
40 Swiss Partners Traveling
To enable tour operators and travel agents to benefit from Switzerland’s popularity, Switzerland Tourism provides them with further educational opportunities such as “Road-to-Switzerland” in April. “With the ‘Road-to-Switzerland’ through Canada and the USA, we introduce a new format. We are joined by 40 partners from Switzerland, with whom the travel industry community will be able to connect in a convenient, productive and fun way”, says Alex Herrmann, Director North America, Switzerland Tourism. The roadshow stops in Toronto, Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
New E-Learning Program
At the roadshow, Switzerland Tourism will also present its new interactive global e-learning program. “Travel professionals around the world and across North America have asked us for more training options. We listened and created the new ‘Switzerland Travel Academy’ together with USI, the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. It will be available in more than 10 countries including Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain and Germany”, explains Pascal Prinz, Manager Trade Relations and responsible for agent training in North America. With the new e-learning program, travel professionals can specialize in areas such as outdoor activities, lifestyle travel, the Grand Tour of Switzerland, or specific Swiss regions. In just 3 hours, they can become a certified Switzerland Travel Expert at mySwitzerland.com/academy.
