SWISS customers who make use of the airline’s online check-in facilities between 23 September and 13 October will be helping a SOS Children’s Village in Angola to procure materials for its school. SWISS’s online check-in option offers a host of valuable time-saving advantages including self-seat selection and the ability to obtain electronic boarding passes prior to airport arrival.

Zurich Airport – SWISS offers its online check-in option via a variety of channels: web check-in via www.swiss.com from a home or office computer or mobile check-in by a smartphone. The convenient online check-in option enables customers to complete check-in formalities before arriving at the airport, including seat selection and having their boarding pass sent free to their phone in an email or text message form. Online check-in not only saves valuable time at the airport. It eliminates substantial amounts of paper, too. As a result, SWISS is donating the equivalent of the paper saved through its online check-in between 23 September and 13 October to the school at the Benguela SOS Children’s Village in Angola, in the form of text and exercise books.

SOS Children’s Villages International and SWISS have been working together for several years now. For example, SWISS collects loose change in all currencies on its flights which is donated to support families in various SOS Children’s Villages; and SWISS also promotes and assists the entire SOS Children’s Villages International organization through joint communications and special initiatives like this latest one. SWISS is additionally involved with the SWISS Staff Foundation for Children in Need, a charity run voluntarily by its employees that also raises money for several SOS Children’s Villages.
