Switzerland Tourism is the national marketing and sales organisation for Switzerland. The marketing organisation Switzerland Tourism (ST) has a long history. It has been promoting Switzerland as a holiday, travel and conference destination at home and abroad for more than 90 years by federal mandate. ST positions Switzerland as a tourism brand standing for quality, naturalness, authenticity, sustainability and modernity, under the overall concept of “Swissness”. ST is a public corporation head quartered in Zurich, ST has a presence in 27 countries, employing 240 staff. Switzerland Tourism is represented in the UK and Ireland from its office in London with 10 employees.

Recent figures
- The number of hotel overnight stays slumped in 2020 as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hotel overnight figures from Jan – Dec 2020 were down 68.1 % compared to 2019.
- 52.9% of overnights by British tourists in Switzerland are produced in summer with an average stay of 2.3 nights. More than 53% stay in the mountains during their visit.
- The favourite destination of British travellers is Valais, followed by the cantons Bern, Zurich, Graubünden and Geneva.
- Over 70% of British guests are loyal to Switzerland as a holiday destination and have already visited the country more than 2 times.
